Korea is one of the countries in East Asia, It’s divided
into two countries, namely the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North
Korea) and the Republic of Korea or what we are familiar with South Korea.
Republic of Korea or South Korea is a country located in East Asia in the
southern part of the Korean Peninsula. This country is known by the name Hanguk
by residents of South Korea and also called Namchoson which means South. South
Korea is familiar with the nickname “ginseng country”, why was it given the
nickname “ginseng country”? Because only in Korea has the best ginseng in the
world. The existence of this ginseng is cultivated in land that contains high
nutrition with the procedure for planting in such a way, so that many types.
Seoul is the capital of South Korea, Seoul is located in the
country's seas, in the southern part of the DMZ, on the Han River. This city is
the center of culture, social, politics and economy in South Korea.
In a year, South Korea has four kinds of seasons, i.e. there
are spring, summer, fall and winter.
A. Spring
Spring is a transition from winter to
summer. Spring in South Korea occurs in March to May. Spring with a mild and
refreshing temperature in South Korea is the best time and the most popular
time for tourists while on vacation, because in the spring in South Korea
tourists can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms. The blossoming of cherry
blossoms in South Korea is also celebrated with various festivals.
B. Summer
Summer
in South Korea occurred from June to August, with temperatures ranging on 23-26
℃. In summer, the mountainous region is covered by greenery. Usually
in the summer Korean people go hiking, going to the beach, or the valley area
to enjoy summer vacation.
C. Autumn
Autumn
in South Korea can also be called “Cheon go mabi” which is a Korean language
that means "high sky and horses become fat", this term describes the
conditions of autumn in South Korea when bright harvests are abundant and
livestock become fertile. Autumn in South Korea runs from September to
November. This season is also being the most favorite time for tourists to take
a vacation, because in the fall, what is special in South Korea is that the
ginko and maple trees turn thier color into red or yellow. And it makes the
romantic atmosphere.
D. Winter
Winter
or snow lasts from December to February, with temperatures reach minus 3-6 ℃. In winter, the days are usually become shorter, where the
sun's rays appear slowly and the sun sets earlier. During the winter the
agricultural land stops for a while and several types of vegetables are grown
and developed in the greenhouse. During this season, Kimchi is made on a large
scale for consumption during winter. Usually in this season the tourist
destination that’s opened are a place to play snow boarding or the ski resorts.
South Korea is currently developing various regions in order
to become one of the tourist destinations for foreign tourists. The daily
culture South Korean people is also unique and attracts tourists to holiday in
there.
South Korean culture is strong and also has challenging characteristics.
One of them is that not all tourists can resist the taste of very acidic
kimchi, but Koreans really enjoy the taste of the kimchi. Kimchi is a
traditional food that is produced from fermented napa cabbage or radishes which
is given spicy seasoning and salted. Korean society even makes kimchi as a side
dish.
One of the well-known Korean cultures is the Hanbok, which
is a traditional Korean daily dress for thousands of years, before opening the
country to the West. Currently Korean Hanbok is usually worn during special
occasions such as family gatherings, weddings, birthday celebrations, and
funerals.
Then there is another familiar Korean culture, namely Military
Service for South Korean men. Military service is a state defense action
activity that is mandatory for every South Korean man who starts from 18 to 35
years old. Military service is usually held for 21 months. This state defense
action, aims to create a better and professional armed force.
And last but not least, in South Korea there are also
several tourist attractions that must be visited, it’s “Kyongbokkung” the historical
palace with tours and museums, then there is Changdeok palace which is a palace
and gardens of the Joseon dynasty, the Seoul Tower or usually known as Namsan
Tower which is a tower with a panoramic view of the city. And then there is a
shopping center located in Myeongdong, and also the tourist attractions in
Hanok Bukchon village which is known for its beautiful architecture, and many
more interesting tourist attractions that can be visited in South Korea.
